Vaccination guidelines have changed
September 21, 2007
In the back-to-school issue of the Blazer Bulletin, we featured an article about the importance of keeping your child’s immunizations updated. The local health department notified us that the recommendations for the chicken pox vaccine, called varicella, have recently changed.
The Center for Disease Control now recommends two doses of the vaccine. Parents should discuss this with their child’s health care provider. A good web site to learn more about this vaccine is: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/varicella/vac-faqs-clinic.htm.
