Birch Street Elementary was literally a zoo on Thursday, April 24th. The Kalkaska Elementary PTO sponsored the Whispering Pines Animal Experience for an animal-filled day.

Be careful he doesn't eat your fingers too!

Students in pre-school through fifth grade were invited to spend some time learning about exotic animals, such as the ring-tailed lemur and the South African porcupine.

Goats like to be petted too.

The petting zoo is always a big hit with the children. It's a new experience for many of them being so close to even a domesticated animal like a cow.
