Fifth graders enjoy trip to Grass River Natural Area
The fifth grade classes have been lucky enough to go to
Grass River Natural Area in Bellaire during the last week of
September and the first week of October. Classes used various
measurement tools to calculate the oxygen levels of the rivers and
also the speed and water flow of each of three locations along the
river. Once each of nine groups were done collecting data they
shared their information with the other groups.

As always the naturalists and their teaching helpers were very
knowledgeable and shared their excitement of the love nature. How
fortunate we are to have such beauty just outside our
window!
Ms.
Wildfong's group stopped off at Freedom Park in Rapid City for
lunch, fun, nature walks, and continued appreciation of our local
rivers. They were joined by seven parent chaperones who also
enjoyed the day's events.
We have to
thank all those who sold wrapping paper for Cherry Street
Intermediate last year, as those funds paid for the
buses!
