Comments about growing up in the Kalkaska area and attending KPS:
Growing up in the Kalkaska area gave me a great opportunity to start young with entrepreneurship. I grew up on a farm where I was able to get involved with 4H and raise and sell cattle. In fact, I bought my first Laptop computer with the proceeds from selling a steer after our annual completion. Not only was it a great place to grow up, but Kalkaska Public Schools offered me opportunities like Advanced Placement Biology and Calculus that allowed me to have a head start on many of the other students at the University of Michigan. Between growing up on the farm and school, I knew how to study, work hard, and felt very prepared to take on the world.

Comments about growing up in the Kalkaska area and attending KPS:
I am truly grateful for my time in the Kalkaska Public School system. I was fortunate to have wonderful and fostering teachers and role models (including bus drivers, librarians, etc.) from elementary school all the way through high school. Their enthusiasm was contagious and it made me realize the value of both education and a positive attitude. I am confident that the strong foundation that I received in Kalkaska sent me on my way toward a varied and exciting career path.
We will be featuring more KPS grads in the future. If you have someone in mind to be featured for their accomplishments since graduation, please let us know!
