Global Warming

Fourth and fifth grade students at Rapid City Elementary School made Global Warming posters to hang on the library walls. Students watched video clips from Discovery Education and read magazine articles at Michigan Electronic Library to learn about the causes and effects of global warming on our planet.
Some of the tips they found to help "cool" off our planet are:
- Turn off lights and equipment when not in use.
- Replace your light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs.
- Only use the dishwasher and washing machine with full loads.
- Walk or ride a bike to school instead of driving.
- Recycle aluminum cans, glass bottles, plastic, paper and newspaper.
