First graders learn about the school's forest

Birch Street first graders went on a field trip to the School Forest.
Mrs. Short's high school science students led the youngsters on a nature scavenger hunt, where students searched for a bunch of items, including scat (fancy word for animal poop!) and lichens.
The high school students did a great job working with their small groups, and the first graders had an absolute blast in the woods!
