Birch Street kids visit the high school for a special learning experience
April 15, 2009
Recently Mrs. Sutton's first grade class visited the Biology classroom at the High School. They spent some time reviewing measurement, learning about plant nutrition, and garden planting. Then, they all had the opportunity to plant a seed of their own, which they will care for and watch grow in their classroom at Birch Street.
Before the end of the school year, the plants will be transplanted to the school garden at Birch Street. The first graders enjoyed their walk to the high school in the sunny weather, and they were genuinely surprised at how big the desks and chairs were!
