2010 Jazz Band Itinerary

KMS and KHS Jazz Band

March 12, 2010

  1. All students report in uniform at Kalkaska High School Band Room by 7:45 am
  2. Depart for Central Grade School (downtown TC) at 8:00 am
  3. Arrival at Central Grade School by 9:00 am, unload equip. and follow guide to cloak room.         Cloak room #226 for both our ensembles.
  4. KMS warm-up time in “Large Gym”:    9:30 am  (KHS Jazz Band to auditorium with chaperones)
  5. KMS performance time on stage:   10:00 am
  6. Following adjudicator’s comments/clinic KMS Jazz Band will return instruments to cloak room and return with chaperones to auditorium to hear performances.
  7. Lunch Times:  KMS  11:20 am return to auditorium together with chaperones by 11:35 am.

        KHS 11:30 am, return to auditorium together with chaperones by 11:50 am

    8. Noon (special performance in auditorium)

    9. Following Kingsley HS, (approx. 1:47 pm)  KHS moves quickly & quietly to cloak room to assemble instruments and be ready for 2:00 pm warm-up in            “Large Gym:

    10.   KHS performance time on stage:  2:30 pm.

    11.   Following adjudicator’s comments/clinic KHS Jazz Band will return instruments to cloak room and return with chaperones to auditorium to hear end of Petoskey HS and final performance from TC Central “1”.   

    12.   Following final performance (approx. 3:50 pm) all work together to load large instruments and drum-set into school trailer.  

    13.   Estimated return to Kalkaska High School: Between 4:45 – 5:00 pm.  (We will not be stopping for dinner.)

    14.   Students leaving early with parents following their performance MUST provide a signed note from home by 3:15 pm, March 19.  

    15.   As of 3-11-2010, we still need someone to pull the black school trailer and at least 4 adult chaperones from KMS and KHS Bands.  Please contact Mr. Chissus asap so we don’t have to cancel our participation:

Reminders/Procedures:

YOU are responsible to understand and follow the above itinerary.

Do NOT Talk during the performances of others.

Do NOT chew gum or take food or drinks into the auditorium.

Do NOT whistle or act inappropriate representing Kalkaska Schools.

Do NOT enter or exit the auditorium during a performance.

Do NOT run or make noise in hallways.

Do NOT take or touch equipment that doesn’t belong to you or KPS Schools.

Do Listen, enjoy and support the performances of others.

Do respect chaperones and follow their directions.

Leave cloak room in same or better condition…learn & have fun.
