Knightmares head to state chess competition this weekend

The 10th ranked Cherry Street ‘Knightmares from the North’ will once take on the best in Michigan as they travel to East Lansing next weekend to compete in the 2012 Michigan State Elementary Chess Championships. The club recently completed a qualifying tournament in order to select our very best. Lauren Kores, Hunter Sutton, Eddie Helsel, Jon Chwastek, and Kyle Morrill will represent Kalkaska this year. 700 children from across the state representing 4 divisions and over 40 teams will compete at the Student Union at MSU February 4th.
