Kalkaska Public Schools offer a multitude of options for children and families of preschool-aged children.
At Birch Street Elementary there are four-year old Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) classrooms. This program comes with funding support from the Federal government. There is also tuition-based preschool available for families. Birch Street is hopeful to see three-year old GSRP programming in the near future. Birch Street also offers its families a “Transitional Kindergarten” program.
For the 2020-21 school year Rapid City Elementary is hosting two GSRP classrooms for its preschool students.
Head Start programming also exists in our buildings. Kalkaska Middle School is the site of a Head Start program.
